Swimming Pool Construction

Excavation: Once the permit is finished we will schedule and dig you new pool.  We will use the plan and property surveys to layout the pool with paint for your approval.  After your sign off we will set elevation, form the pool, and excavate.

Steel Frame: After excavation the steel framework of the pool will be put into place. The structure will be tied according to the schedule you and your designer have agreed upon.

Plumbing Stub: Stub plumbing refers to the skimmers, main drains, returns, light niches, spa equipment, or anything else that might need to be set in before gunite.

Bond: Most cities require an electrical bond loop of the steel along with an inspection before proceeding to gunite.

Gunite: Right after the inspection is made the guniter will be notified and the pool will be shot as soon as possible.  More information on gunite strengths and finishing details can be provided at your request.

Tile and Coping: The tile band will be applied where necessary in the pool and grouted in. Coping and stonework will immediately follow this step.  Coping will generally be decided on at the designing stage but at some point you will be asked to make a tile selection. We will provide brochures and or samples to help you make a selection that best coordinates with the coping, plaster, and your overall look.

Equipment Set: All of the in ground plumbing will be installed at this time and run to the equipment pad where they will be tied in and pressure tested.

Electrical: After the equipment is in place the electrician will be scheduled to run all necessary lines and make all equipment wiring connections.

Gas Line: On pools with natural gas heater units or any other gas feature a gas line will need to be run underground from the meter to the base of the heater or to the proper feature.  A city inspection will also need to take place before the line can be covered and connected.

Deck Form: Once all underground work is completed the deck forming will take place. Cushion sand will first be put down and then the forms will be set according to the plan.  The steel will then be tied and interlaced with the framework of the pool and the bond loop will be tied in and inspected by the city.

Deck Pour: After the inspection concrete will be called for and the deck will be poured and finished. * SEE DECK SEALING

Clean up: During this step the bowl of the pool will be cleaned thoroughly.  Trash and debris from construction will be hauled away and if applicable the fence will either put back or installed.  All punch or items should also be addressed at this time.

Plaster:  The color of your finish will be confirmed with you and the plaster crew will be released to make application.  Upon finishing, the pool will be immediately filled.

Start Up: When the pool is filled we will start the new equipment and make sure everything is functioning the way it should be.  The initial chemicals will be provided and added to bring the water chemistry into proper range. The pool will run continuously for approximately 10 to 14 days and any final adjustments will be made during this time.

Instructions: We will schedule a time to meet with you to go over all functions of your new pool and address any questions or concerns you may have approximately 10 to 14 days into the start up phase.

* Deck Sealing
Pools with stamped concrete or surfaces that require sealing will be sealed after plaster and will be subject to weather. Yard sprinklers need to be shut off 24 hours prior to and 24 hours after this process. If there is new planting in the area surrounding the pool deck we recommend that the home owner hand water for this time frame.

* Salt Systems
For new pools we will not put the salt in the pool for a period of 10 to 14 days after your initial   start up to allow for the plaster to cure.

* Heaters
For pool owners that have pools with heaters or a spa with a newly plastered pool we recommend that the heater does not run for the initial 10 to 14 days post plaster time frame to avoid damage to the heater and plaster of the pool.

* Cleaner Installation
The cleaner will be installed during your instruct or after a minimum of a 10 day time period so as not the damage the new plaster.

*Computers
For pool owners with remote control systems they will be programmed at instruct of the owner. Prior to this the pool will be set to run for 24 hours a day for this 10 to 14 day time frame or until the pool owner can be instructed unless prior arrangements have been made.
